“If we want things to stay as they are, things will have to change.”

Beer Sheva, Negev, Israel
This Project is aiming to re-evaluate the current model of housing and urban texture within Beer Sheva, The biggest city in the Negev area in Israel, and to create a new approach to it.
Throughout the city there are many modernist housing blocks, neglected and worn out through time, accompanied by vacant, misused, spaces that were. Those areas created “bald spots” in the city’s texture.
This project aimed to transform those into a place that will include new cultural ventures, communal areas, and new commercial uses. while maintaining a strict "do not demolish" philosophy, this project re-uses vacant spaces and expands the existing median of Tuviyahu avenue, one of the widest roads in the city to fit for pedestrian usage.
